Welcome to Intellectual Dark Web Watch, where I will critique and call out the IDW - and the Left - on their bullshit as, in the current climate, as neither the Left or Right are capable of listening to any diverging or dissenting opinion from their own adherents or opponents and each are steeped in their own fanaticisms, it takes a righty to call out a lefty on their bullshit and vice versa.

I am a lefty, by my own definition, but I respect righties and everybody else and adamantly aver that all sincerely held belief must be respected, that the proper way for one's viewpoints to prevail is in open, honest discussion and fair, democratic process. Free speech and democracy were invented so that disagreements could be resolved peacefully. Before those institutions the only way to do so was through war and deadly violence - which seems to be what we are devolving to now with the denigration of free speech and democracy by some ideological tendencies. 

I applaud the Intellectual Dark Web without being blind to its flaws, which are considerable. It seems founded in common, colloquial ignorance and to be in subservience to agendas of heavily invested parties - i.e., it seems, in significant part, to be billionaire propaganda and "man in the street" bigotry - and seems to try to resist enlightenment by science and exposure by public scrutiny - but then, so is the Left, in many respects, on its own bullshit, being hijacked as a vehicle for bourgeois, academic elites to, as a class, gain control and domination of the working classes and of society in general by appointing itself society's moral authority or "high priesthood of the new Social Justice religion" and dictate from its self assumed papacy it's callow, facile, obtuse and self interested tenets and to, like modern day Scribes and Pharisees, manufacture sins to keep the public bowed and cowed to it. Thus one might say the IDW and the Left deserve each other but the rest of us deserve better than either of them.

 The IDW penetrates the often speciously moralizing, newly constructed Iron Curtain of the Left that doesn't allow free discussion or any challenges to its orthodoxies handed down from its largely amorphous and anonymous cult leadership. Thus, however wild or wrongheaded some of its assertions may be - and however spot on others of it may be - the IDW serves a valuable purpose by bringing free discussion to the issues and challenge to the dominant narratives.

My observations will be made on a very part time basis, perhaps spotty in focus and amateurish in technique - but so is much of that of the IDW. I believe I will, nevertheless, bring much needed nuance to the discussion pointing out fallacies in both the IDW's and the Left's methods and arguments and help bring society to the less extreme, more nuanced truth.
